Privacy Notice

Introduction

Solution Community, Inc. (“Solution”) is a Delaware nonprofit, nonstock corporation. At Solution, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our users.  We have developed this Privacy Notice (“Notice”) to describe and govern how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information collected (1) in the context of our mission and charitable purpose: to build a global platform empowering change, to build a global platform empowering change for individuals, businesses, and philanthropists to make a positive impact in the world, to provide access to education and resources, and to create a community where people can work together to solve the world’s most pressing challenges (“Services”); and (2) through the use of our website (solution.help) and application programming interface (our “API”) (collectively, the “Sites”), and any information provided directly to Solution without the use of our Sites.  At this time, our Sites are not intended for users who are physically located in and/or residents of the countries of Russia, Belarus, Iran, and North Korea. This Privacy Notice is incorporated into and is part of our Terms of Use.

Before you use or submit any information through or in connection with the Services, please carefully review this Notice. By using any part of the Services, you acknowledge the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as outlined in this Notice.

Information We Collect

Except as stated in this Notice, Solution does not collect information from you unless you send it to us directly through your use of our Sites.

Information You Send. You may send us your information in connection with our Services.  For example, when visiting our Sites, you may opt in to provide us with your first and last name, email address, country of residence, and phone number, in order to receive information about our Services.  Additionally, if you choose to contact us with a question or to provide us with feedback through our Sites.  If you would like to apply for an open position or volunteer with us, we will ask you to provide us with your first and last name, email address, phone number, and information specific to your application (such as, but not limited to, your work history).  We will use this information to assess your application, to contact you about your candidacy, and/or for any subsequent work that you may do with us. If you choose to donate to Solution, we will collect and use, your information individually or in aggregate to help improve your experience and the functionality of our Sites.

Information from Other Services. Solution may use third-party services so that we can provide our Services. In those cases, if you permit it, your information as a user of the Sites may be sent to Solution.

Information That is Passively or Automatically Collected. Solution does not serve targeted advertising; however, when you use the Internet, unaffiliated parties such as ad networks, web analytic companies, and social networking platforms may collect information about your online activities over time and across our Sites and other websites.  This information may be used to provide advertisements for products and services that may interest you, and those companies may use cookies, clear GIFs, and other tracking technologies.  We do not track your activity across different websites or online services.

Our Use of Information Collected

Solution uses the information collected in a manner that is consistent with this Notice.  We may use the information that you provide for the following purposes:

Communicating With You. We process this information as necessary (i) to fulfill our obligations under our Services, or (ii) for our legitimate interest, such as, to maintain our relationship with you or to protect you and us against fraud.

Legal. We process information to comply with legal obligations.

Our Disclosure of Information Collected

We do not sell or rent your information. There are certain circumstances in which we share and disclose information collected with certain third-parties without further notice to you, as set forth below.

Business Transfers. As we develop our organization, we might sell or buy business or assets. In the event of a sale, merger, reorganization, dissolution, similar event or steps taken in anticipation of such events, user information may be part of the transferred assets.

Agents, Consultants, Vendors and Related Third-Parties. Solution contracts with other companies to perform certain organizational functions on our behalf, and we provide access to or share your information with these companies. We limit the personal information provided to these service providers and entities to that which is reasonably necessary for them to perform their functions, and we require them to agree to maintain the confidentiality of such information.

Legal Requirements. Solution can access, disclose, transfer and preserve your information when we have a good faith belief that doing so is necessary to: (i) comply with the law including with subpoenas, search warrants, court orders, and other legal process; and respond to inquiries or requests from government, regulatory, law enforcement, public authorities, or content protection organizations; (ii) protect and defend the legal rights, privacy, safety or property of Solution, its employees, volunteers agents, contractors, or its users; (iii) permit us to pursue available remedies, commence, participate in, or defend litigation, or limit the damages we may sustain; or (iv) enforce this Notice.

How We Protect Children's Privacy

Our Sites are not intended for children under 13 in any capacity or for children under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect or solicit information from anyone under the age of 13. In the event that we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under the age of 13, we will delete that information as soon as practicable from our server. If you believe that we may have any information collected from a child under the age of 13, please contact us at privacy@solution.help.

Retention of Your Information

We retain your information for as long as needed to provide our Services, comply with our contractual or legal obligations, audit requirements, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse.  When we no longer need to retain your information, we will take reasonable steps to remove it from our systems and records and/or take steps to anonymize it so that you can no longer be identified from it in accordance with our internal document retention policies.

Users In Europe

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland (collectively “Europe”):

  • for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (the “GDPR”), the data controller is Solution and can be reached at Privacy@Solution.Help; and
  • you acknowledge you have read this Notice and understood its terms.


If you are located in Europe, you have the right to ask for an overview of the information we process about you, and for a copy of your information. In addition, you may request us to update and correct inaccuracies, delete your information, restrict processing of your information, or exercise your right to data portability to easily transfer your information to another company. In some cases, you may object to the processing of your information and where we have asked you for your consent to process your information, you can withdraw it at any time. You may also withdraw a previously given consent for processing your personal information; the withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on consent before its withdrawal. The above rights may be limited under applicable law.

You can make a request to exercise any of these rights in relation to your information by sending the request to us at Privacy@Solution.Help. For your own privacy and security, at our discretion, we may require you to provide your identity before providing the requested information. Please note that Solution Community, Inc. may take up to 30 days to fulfill such requests.

The above rights can be limited under applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the local data protection authority if you believe that we have not complied with applicable data protection laws. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of your residence, place of work or where the incident took place.

Changes To The Privacy Notice

Solution may modify this Notice from time to time.  When changes are made, Solution will indicate the modification change date in the “last updated” date at the top of the page.  Solution will notify you of any material updates or changes we make to this Notice. If you disagree with our revisions to the Notice, please stop visiting the site. Please review this Notice periodically for any updates or changes.

By visiting our site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the terms of the Notice as updated or modified.

Any new User Content or Site Content added to the Sites (including all revisions, modifications, and enhancements to the Sites) will be covered by this Notice effective upon the date of each addition.
